The Harvest of the Muse

Harvest the Day

Full are our fields
like our stomachs and cupboards.
Lift up your hearts
and share what we have.

We can harvest the shelves.
In stores we’ll go shopping
filling up our trolleys
with things we think that we need.

We can listen to those who may have a story
and harvest their thoughts
to help others again.

We can learn understanding.
When the homeless hold out a hand.
Let us bring harvest
to the weak and the lonely.
Let us bring love
and harvest the day.

We can bring a smile
to the faces of children.
In some foreign comer
hunger takes the hand of a child
And it begs death to come.
Let us all hold on to
the joys of the children.
Let us bring love
and harvest the day.
