Stations of the Cross
13.
Jesus dies on the cross
Final betrayal
Final agony
Final breath
Forsaken by his father
Mocked by his executioners
Final words
Final misunderstanding
Final scream
Confused people look on
As their Lord hangs lifeless from their cross
Barnaby Perks
14.
Jesus is laid in the tomb
A gaping void
Carved in stone
A chamber filled with grief
An aching cold
Hewn in rock
Walls constricting, closing in
A numbing darkness
Hollow to the core
The final retreat of love and hope?
Claire Hagger
15.
Jesus risen from the dead
Walking with a heavy heart
Sadness
Misery
Tears keep falling
Anguish
Desolation
Spices for a loved one
Oh No! The stone's gone!
Panic
Fear
Where is he, who are you?
Disbelief
Bewilderment
Feet frozen to the ground
Dawning realisation
Recognition
Comprehension
He is alive! Alleluia!
Ecstasy
Exhilaration
Jesus Christ is Risen today!
Caroline Stevens
Resurrection
There is just a pulse of light
collateral, not essential
blink and you miss it
nothing is different
everything has changed
Not energy but information
has transduced the world
information is life
anti-entropy - a contradiction in terms
resurrection
So much for the metaphysics
the bit we can’t understand
what about the important bit
the people
the relationships
the love and the loving
Judas - I loved him
but he opted out
Peter - I love him
but he rushed on
John - I love him
Mary - I love her
They shall know and tell and share
Thomas - I love him
but he must wait
he must corroborate
Paul - I love him
but he does not know yet
All the others - I love them
they will hear and share and tell
They are now me
risen, affirmed, authorised
God among us - in us - through us
mysterium mysteriorum
mystery of mysteries
alleluia
John-David Yule
